Have you ever broken a bone?
When I was 16 years old I decided
To take my 10 speed bike
For a ride in my neighborhood.
I went down a grassy hill
At full speed, never thinking
Of holes in the grass.
My front wheel hit a whole
And a went flying head first,
Landing on my left side,
Passing out.
When I woke up I tried
Getting up with my left arm
And I realized something
Was not good because
Of the immense pain.
My mom took me to the doctor ,
Took X-rays and saw my collarbone
Was fractured.
He put a sling on me
That pulled my shoulders back.
It took several weeks to heal
So no surgery was the thing back then.
